Sensor Inspector Project.
Our 5th and 6th class pupils recently took part in the Sensor Inspector programme, an exciting citizen science initiative run by the Academy of the Near Future in partnership with Dublin City Council. The project encourages children to explore active travel, traffic, and air quality in their local area using real life traffic and pollution sensors.
Throughout the programme, pupils gathered and analysed data, discussed ways to make journeys safer and healthier, and developed creative ideas to improve active travel in our community. As part of the project, the class created a presentation and video showcasing their findings and recommendations.
A group of pupils proudly presented the project at the Mansion House, where they spoke in front of schools, organisers, and the Ray McAdam. Following the presentations, our school received an invitation to present again at City Hall, which was a wonderful honour and recognition of the pupils’ hard work and teamwork.
We are extremely proud of all the pupils involved and the enthusiasm, creativity, and confidence they showed throughout the project.
